Lighting: String little lanterns or Christmas string lights on your artificial plants or across your china cabinet, over mirror in bathroom, anywhere you want some low lighting without the worry of open candles. Also, simply changing a few light bulbs will create different moods, replace some white bulbs with peach or pink bulbs for a warm, sexy feel. Try blue bulbs for a cool nightclub feeling space.

Flowers: Bigger the Better: You’ll need fewer when you select large, voluptuous buds. A single Hydrangea or Peony in a vase container gives an impressive look to your table.

Beer/Sodas: Pick up some colorful large buckets at the Dollar Store, fill with ice and store drinks in them. Place two tubs at at either side or end of the room, people will mingle more as they go back and forth to get drinks.

Specialty Signature Drink Offer just ONE: No need to buy tons of mixers and alcohol and play bartender all evening! Make one delicious and simple cocktail. Buy some Prosecco, it’s cheaper than Champagne, mix in cranberry juice, squeeze a little lemon juice and serve from pretty pitcher.

Dessert: Keep it simple. If you have a fire pit on your patio or deck, get your guests involved. On a large tray, place graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate bars broken into squares, and long skewers and they can make smores. Always a favorite and fun interaction with guests. Don’t have a fire pit? Just purchase assorted cupcakes and simply display on beautifull tray or platter and watch them disappear.

Extra Seating: use the large throw pillows you have, even ones from your bed, and spread them out around your living room floor or around the coffee table or near the fireplace. It’ll create a lounge-y exotic Moroccon feel, making everyone feel more relaxed.

Benning is one of the largest and oldest Army installations in the Country and has been recognized as the Best Installation in the world. The Ft. Benning loop passes by beautiful buildings and fields, including Sacrifice Field with its numerous monuments that pay tribute to the bravery of soldiers who served our Country in Wars and Campaigns to preserve our Freedoms. After completing the Ft. Benning loop the runners will enter the RiverWalk and continue for a 20.5 mile loop to Uptown Columbus and Phenix City, Alabama and back to the Infantry Museum for a finish on the beautiful Avenue of Flags. On the RiverWalk runners will pass Oxbow Meadows, the new Oxbow Creek Golf Course, and run along the Chattahoochee River before crossing Dillingham Bridge into Phenix City, Alabama and then run a beautiful section of the RiverWalk on the Alabama side of the Chattahoochee River. Returning to Columbus via the 14th Street Bridge runners will continue along the RiverWalk in front of the world headquarters of TSYS. The course through Uptown Columbus features several cultural, financial and educational sites, including Columbus State University Uptown Campus and W. C. Bradley Company Home Office. Runners will return to the RiverWalk at the site of the Eagle and Phenix Mills/Condos where the world’s longest Urban Whitewater Rafting Course is planned for opening in 2011.

Runners will enjoy a course that is flat and fast and the November temperatures should be cool. Other than a moderate 0.5 mile hill at mile 2 entering Ft. Benning and four minor inclines along the River, the course is flat as it runs through Ft. Benning and along the River and through Uptown Columbus.
